A Personal Approach

I'm Matthew Line, originally from Ohio. A life changing event opened my eyes to the importance of planning, especially when life throws the unexpected. That's what drew me to this career; helping people prepare for whatever comes next.

I live in Auberry, a small mountain community outside Fresno. Many of my neighbors work for themselves, own land, or run a business the whole town knows by name. Planning looks different when the nearest office is a drive down the hill, and I'm glad to come to you.

Before joining New York Life, I managed an Ace Hardware store and built and ran a composite fabrication business of my own. I know what it's like to sign the front of a paycheck rather than the back of one, to lose sleep over a slow quarter, and to wonder what would become of everything you built if you weren't there to run it. That experience is why most of my work today is with business owners: continuity, key people, buy-sell funding, group benefits, and retirement plans. I understand how sole proprietorships, LLCs, S corps, and C corps are structured, and how those differences shape a planning conversation. I don't replace your CPA or your attorney. I work alongside them.

Families and individuals remain a significant part of my practice, and the goal there is the same: clarity about what you're protecting, what you're building toward, and what it takes to get there.

My fiancée and I are building our life together here, and that shapes how I approach this work. Faith sits at the center of it, and it shows up in how I practice: trust, integrity, and genuine care for the person across the table. I take the time to understand your story, where you are today, and where you'd like to go.

I serve on the board of Best Buddies in Fresno, which builds friendship, leadership, and employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The families I've come to know through that work have shaped how I think about planning for a lifetime rather than for a retirement.

My process is straightforward and there are no surprises in it. We begin with a conversation so I understand how things are actually put together and what's weighing on you. From there I bring you a tailored set of options and walk you through them. You decide what makes sense. Nothing moves until you say so.

I serve the Central Valley and the surrounding mountain communities, and I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside you as you plan for what's ahead.

Built on Faith. Driven by Purpose
